Submission Criteria

There are two parts to completing your entry:
Part A: Completed written entry form submitted online.
Part B: A five minute (or less) video uploaded to YouTube.
Part A: Your written entry
Start by saving the entry form (DOC or PDF) to complete it. Read this form thoroughly.
You can complete the entry form electronically in Microsoft Word.
Save your written entry form with a file name that includes your team name. Submit it online by Thursday, 8 October 2009 at 4:00 p.m. (in the Eastern time zone).
Part B: Your video entry
The video submission is an important part of your team entry. It helps judges determine the public speaking skills and the level of passion to counter climate change of each member of your team.
When you create your video, design it as a video message, announcement or commercial to the world leaders attending the Conference of the Parties in Copenhagen. Use the video to convince world leaders of:
- what should be decided at the Conference of the Parties 15 and why;
- why it is crucial that they come to a real deal and sign a new fair and binding climate change agreement at the end of COP 15;
- why it is important that they listen to representatives of the world’s children/youth like you.
Your video must be five minutes or less in length.
Be as creative as possible. Think outside the box! Think about what types of imagery, music, storytelling, etc. will be most compelling.
Before you begin filming, it is important to read the Get Reel on Climate Competition Terms and Conditions.
When you have completed your video, upload it to YouTube and record the Web address of your video on your entry form. This is very important – if you do not include the Web link in your entry form it will not be judged as part of your entry.
