UNICEF carries out research and produces reports highlighting both the progress made toward protecting the rights of the world's children and the important work that is yet to be done. Many of UNICEF's reports have been adapted into youth-friendly versions, with statistics brought to life through the real life stories of women and children from around the world.

World Fit For Children From May 8 to 10, 2002, at the Special Session of the UN General Assembly on Children, the nations of the world committed themselves to goals to improve the situation of children and young people. A World Fit for Children focused on four key priorities: promoting healthy lives; providing quality education for all; protecting children against abuse, exploitation and violence; and combating HIV and AIDS. To mark the halfway point, the United Nations held a commemorative high level plenary meeting of the General Assembly and Roundtable discussions on 11 and 12 December 2007 in New York. The Secretary-General's report on progress towards the goals of "A World Fit for Children" was released during this event. A World Fit for Children |
